VA to Watts Conversion

Volt-amps (VA) to watts (W) conversion calculator.

Enter apparent power in volt-amps (VA) and power factor (PF) and press the Calculate button to get the real power in watts (W).

W

Many electronics devices mention VA as their rated power, which people confuse it with watts and complains that device is incapable to handle the mentioned load.

But the fact is there is a Power Factor (PF) which help us define what would be real watts a machine and electric device can handle based on mentioned VA. To obtain the PF is a device, check its manual or specification section.

Usually most of the device like power backup inverters, solar inverters, and UPS have 0.80 (80%) PF. Some efficient ones have 0.84 (84%) PF. But for masses 0.80 is the correct PF for calculating the efficiencies of all kind inverters and UPS.

Based on my all research of different brands like Luminous, Microtek, etc. Here is a short table that specifies what would be Watts of different VA inverters.
