Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL) is set to roll out its 4G and 5G network services in India by 2024, it could be delayed by few months due to any unfavorable conditions.
This initiative aligns with the broader goal of enhancing India’s telecommunications infrastructure and providing faster and more reliable internet connectivity.
The announcement, confirmed by the Telecom Minister, underscores the government’s commitment to integrating advanced technology in the public sector.
Initially, BSNL planned to launch its 4G services on August 15, 2023, but the timeline has been adjusted to ensure a more robust and comprehensive deployment.
But as far as ground reality is BSNL is delaying payment to TCS which BSNL has received from government which is causing this much delay. As we all know, the babu culture of India will never go and that will always delay government work.
As soon as they initiate 4G across the nation, 5G development is easy (it will take one or two more years), it will be similar to Reliance Jio that requires few tweaks here and there and the network infrastructure will be ready for 5G. The timeline has been adjusted many times, but they look more promising by end of this year or midterm of 2025 for 4G.
