On Screen Display (OSD) is a virtual layer of options that allows us to customize the screening device like Monitors. An OSD menu or option will always appear on top of the screen no matter what is being viewed on the screen.

We have tried and tested the OSD menu on TV, Monitors, and Projectors that allows us to set brightness, contrast, viewing enhancements, volume, and similar features.

What Is OSD Timeout?

An OSD timeout refers to the time the information remains on screen before it disappears.

For instance, when we browse the menu of our monitor or television, we’ve noticed that the information will disappear after a certain time if we do not make any selection. See the below video for reference.

Some devices have an adjustable time out feature and some not, if your device does not have an OSD timeout it will continue to display the information until you manually leave the menu or turn off the device.
